Anger Management
We offer affordable twelve (12) week groups that address anger. Our hope is to teach skills that will manage and reduce symptoms related to anger. There are many problems stemming from anger that are addressed, such as; interpersonal conflicts, legal problems, and others.
Our groups are sensitive to specific needs of the individuals seeking treatment. Each group focuses on topics that are relevant in assisting each person to achieve his/her individual goals.
Types of Groups
The groups offered are aimed at various populations. They include, but are not limited to:
• Men’s Groups
• Women’s Groups
• Community Violence
• Parenting Groups
Topics
There is a variety of subject matter covered in the groups. The goal is to touch on as many areas as possible to address issues related to the individuals’ anger. Some of the topics that are covered include:
• Recognizing and accepting feelings
• Identifying triggers to anger
• Thinking before acting
• Effective conflict resolution
• Use of support systems
Entrance Process
Each individual referred will have an initial anger assessment to identify their specific area of need.
If the individual is found to be appropriate for the group, a fee for services will be developed.
The participant will be enrolled to begin services for the start of the next available twelve (12) week group. (Arrangements to participate in additional group sessions can be made on a case by case basis.)
Referrals
Referrals for the groups come from a variety of community sources such as; the Department of Probation, the Department of Social Services, the County Courts, the Police or Sheriff’s Departments, or other private referral sources.
Fees for Anger Management Groups
• Initial Assessment – $60
• Group (per session) – $20
Payment plans are available if needed.
