Sexual Offender Treatment
The sex offender treatment program provides group and individual treatment to individuals with self-identified or legally mandated need for treatment. The main goal of the program is to reduce the likelihood of future sexual offenses. Ultimately, the safety of the community is the highest priority.
Focus of Assessment and Treatment
The sex offender treatment program targets risk factors that have been empirically shown to relate to the risk of sexual offending. Treatment is guided by an assessment to identify an individual’s problem areas related to potential re-offense. Treatment is then targeted to reduce the individual’s risk of re-offense.
Learning to control deviant sexual behavior requires long term treatment and follow-up. Best outcomes are from coordinated treatment by a multidisciplinary team that includes; mental health professionals, the legal system, community resources, and other natural supports.
